ALARM SYSTEM USES MULTIPLE COMMUNICATION PATHS
Honeywell’s line of global system for mobile communications (GSM) technology uses dual and triple communication paths. The dual-path product, the 7845GSM, uses general packet radio service (GPRS) as the primary communication path and the short message service (SMS) as the backup communication path. The 7845i-GSM adds Internet communication to the GRPS and SMS signals. Users can control an alarm system via cell phone using text messaging, a laptop computer or Web-enabled PDA. The radios come standard with a power supply and rechargeable battery capable of providing 24-hour backup.
