Global Life Safety Alliance (GLSA,) a 501c3 non-for-profit, announced its formation with a mission of continuing conversations with both public and private stakeholders while addressing the current and emerging life safety needs and practices throughout our changing global environments. This new alliance is designed to raise the level of communication, knowledge and expertise, defining best practices to manage growing risks and concerns. GLSA strives to connect, educate and progress the global life safety and security industry under one united umbrella of professionals spanning every aspect of the Industry.

Plans to develop the alliance began in Alexandria, Va. by a group of industry professionals with a desire to provide a global platform to foster quick, simple and effective means of communication, touching all aspects of the life safety industry from the installers and integrators, to first responders, to governmental agencies, to the testing inspection and certification labs, to the product manufacturers, and on and on.

“The launch of GLSA is an important step towards realizing a connected global network of experts focused on supporting every aspect of life safety,” said Thomas F. Connaughton, GLSA CEO. “We are excited to have global subject matter experts join our alliance and assist us with the development of relevant industry content.”

“By providing a platform to connect, educate and progress we will continue to further promote global commerce and best practices under a single alliance umbrella” said Julio McCrae, GLSA president. “Industry 4.0 will continue to impact our collective community in ways we could never have imagined, providing both opportunity and challenges when seeking to protect humans and property from the ever evolving physical and cyber threats that we face as a collective society.”
